KC and Taka in The Morning Dominates!
(Honolulu 6-27-08) Since joining forces in October, KC and Taka, morning dj's at radio station Power 104.3 have dominated the morning show landscape in Honolulu with their brand of off-beat humor that pokes fun at local stories, local celebrities and hollywood. Although the pair has only been together for less than a year, they have an on-air chemistry that only veterans possess. KC and Taka in the morning truly enjoy each other's company and are the same way off the air as they are on the air. They have a very wide range of listeners from all different backgrounds. Their humor is self deprecating and are able to dish out pranks as much as they take pranks.

KC comes from the island of Guam but was born in the Philippines. He didn't leave his birth country until he was 14 years old. So he's still able to speak two dialects from the Philippines. Taka was born in Japan but has been living in Hawaii for many years. He came to Hawaii to study at UH Manoa. Taka also has the ability to speak his native language. These two morning dj's are probably the only radio personalities in Hawaii who can speak multiple languages.

KC and Taka as Batman and Joker

Power 104.3's KC and Taka hosted the premiere for Batman "The Dark Knight" recently and gave listener's from all over the 808 an opportunity to see it before it opened up nationwide. And the verdict is in...PEOPLE LOVED IT!
Taka said "This movie is a ten! Heath Ledger looks scary and does a better job than Jack Nicholson as the joker. This is a movie worth seeing. I predict this will be number one movie of the summer!". Ruby from Hawaii USA Federal Credit Union, who was one of the few Power listeners to have been invited to the Hawaii premiere said "Heath Ledger really played his part well. This is superb acting from Heath Ledger!"

Power 104.3 Review ...

I was fortunate enough to see “The Dark Knight” at the premiere last night and it was excellent. I can’t imagine anybody walking out of the theater being disappointed. The story was great and weaved together all of the characters nicely and had some really nice unexpected turns.

I didn’t know what to make of all the buzz surrounding Heath Ledger recently with his death and all, but his spin on the Joker character was totally appreciated. He was disturbing in a psychopathic way and didn’t treat the character like a clown. It was a large part of what created the effectively dark atmosphere of the movie.

Once you see it you’ll know what I’m getting at. I think a great way to measure how good a movie was is by the impression it leaves on you after you’ve seen it and left the theater. Sometimes you don’t think much of it, and other times you stop caring even as the credits begin to roll. This movie was still in my head long after it ended and that hasn’t happened to me in a long time. I strongly recommend you go and see it.
